  • Why can I only buy 3, 6 or 10+ individual bars?

    When buying single bars, we let you choose a package between 3, 6 and 10 and more simply for logistical reasons. In order to guarantee you an efficient and affordable delivery, we have optimized our packages for these options.

  • Why do I receive the invoice from Swissbilling and not from Choba Choba?

    Swissbilling is our partner for payments with invoice and authorized to issue and send you the invoices on our behalf. For any questions related to your invoice, please contact us at finance@chobachoba.com.

  • I forgot the password of my account. What do I do?

    You can always reset your password and receive a new one by clicking on “Forgot my password” on the log in page to your account.

  • What makes Choba Choba chocolate so special?

    The Choba Choba chocolate is a blend of unique terroir, extraordinary endemic cacao varieties and the craftsmanship of the best Swiss Chocolatier. Our cacao beans grow on our small family farms in the beautiful Alto Huayabamba Valley located in the upper Amazon and the birthplace of cacao itself – right in the heart of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Gran Pajatén. In Switzerland our precious cacao is transformed by Felchlin – a master in the chocolate world. Our products are pure: Our dark creations are made with our cacao beans, cacao butter and raw cane sugar only. Some of our creations are rounded up with some special ingredients. We never blend cacao varieties to fully reveal their specific aromas; never add palm oil, soy lecithin or any preservatives, aromas or additives, and produce our treats in small batches to ensure freshness.   • Where is the chocolate crafted?

    The chocolate is produced by the renown Swiss chocolatier, Felchlin, in the Swiss canton of Schwyz.

  • Can I buy Choba Choba in stores / retail?

    No, you can only find our products in our own online shop. The farmers founded Choba Choba with the vision to sell their chocolates directly to their consumers, without any middlemen. They wish to establish a direct connection between them, the cacao farmers and you, the fans of their chocolates, and bring you their story. By offering their products directly in the Choba Choba chocolate shop, they make this vision reality.

  • Who owns Choba Choba?

    Choba Choba was founded and is owned by 36 cacao farming families from the Alto Huayabamba Valley, Peru, and two experts in sustainable chocolate industry, Eric Garnier and Christoph Inauen. Meet all Choba Choba farmers and founders as well as the rest of the rebels here.

  • What does it mean for the farmers to be co-owners of Choba Choba?

    The 36 cacao farming families and co-founders of Choba Choba are no longer “mere” cacao suppliers but have their own chocolate brand and sell their chocolates directly to the consumers. They are now involved in the decision making processes of the company. They finally have a say in the chocolate business by defining the price of their cacao and as shareholders they benefit directly from the profits of the company.   • What makes the Choba Choba Club so exclusive?

    The Choba Choba Club is our annual chocolate subscription. As a member you will receive every two months a fresh delivery from the farmers directly to your mail box! You will get the chance to discover all of our creations, assist in the development of the next Choba Choba masterpieces, and be the first to try them, and get to taste the unique aromas of our “cacaos nativos” – very rare cacaos from our Alto Huayabamba – that the members of our Club have privileged access to. Your subscription will make you an active part of the Chocolate Revolution, in every box bring you the unique stories from the Alto Huayabamba and let you follow our revolutionary movement!   • How do I customize my boxes?

    You can customize your subscription in your personal account under “Customize my subscription”. Once you have received your first delivery, the Tasting Box, you have 30 days to pick the favorite bars for the three customizable boxes of your subscription.

  • How can I unsubscribe from the Club?

    I bought my subscription myself: You become a member of the Choba Choba Club for at least one year and you can only cancel your membership for the following cycle. You will receive an email 10 days prior to the renewal of your membership where you can cancel your subscription by clicking on a link.

    I received my subscription as a gift: If you have received a voucher code that you redeemed for a one-year subscription, then your Club membership ends automatically after one year .If you however wish to continue being a member of the Club, you can purchase another subscription.

  • How to redeem the gift voucher for the Club?

    Go to our subscription page here. Click on “Redeem my voucher”. You will then be transferred to the cart where you already find the subscription. Don’t worry! Your voucher code will allow you to place your subscription order for free! Enter the code that you find in the bottom left corner of your voucher into the field “Vouchers” and click on “OK”. Then click on “Proceed to checkout”. You will then be asked to create an account and to indicate your delivery address. (If you already have a Choba Choba
    account, just sign in to your account.) Once you have created your account, you will be automatically directed to the delivery address section. Click on “Proceed to
    checkout”. Confirm the free delivery, read and tick off the Terms and Conditions. Click on “Proceed to checkout” one last time.

  • How long is the Club voucher valid?

    The voucher is valid one year starting from the purchase date and can be redeemed within that period.

  • Do you offer express delivery?

    No, unfortunately we cannot offer express delivery because our shipment options are already determined beforehand.

  • What should I do if I have problems with my delivery?

    If your order has not arrived within the indicated delivery time or there is a problem with the product you received, please get in touch with us at orders@chobachoba.com.

  • What payment options do you offer?

    We accept credit cards like Visa and Mastercard, for additional payment options available in Switzerland you can see our different payment methods here.

  • Where can I see the history of my orders, change my password or delivery address?

    You can see your previous orders, change your password, delivery address or payment information and customize your subscription in your personal account in our online shop.

  • Do you have a special offer for bigger orders / corporate clients?

    Yes, we do. You can find this special offer and send us a request here.

  • Are your chocolates fair and organic?

    Our chocolates are exclusively produced with our own cacao, we grow on our small family farms in the two villages Santa Rosa and Pucallpillo, Alto Huayabamba Valley, Peru. The Choba Choba farmers have a long tradition in cultivating cacao in harmony with nature. They don’t use pesticides or fertilizers and grow their cacao in organic agroforestry systems – a sustainable farming method that protects and fosters the rich biodiversity of their Amazon region and preserves their unique ecosystems.
    Our other core ingredients, cacao butter and raw cane sugar are also produced in organic cultivation by small cooperatives in the Dominican Republic and Paraguay respectively.

  • Is your packaging sustainable?

    Yes. We have put a lot of effort in finding great suppliers for our packaging and we are happy and proud to partner with IGGESUND. They provide our card boxes produced with green energy and with raw materials they source from their own forest. Our boxes are then assembled by a workshop of BWO Langnau, a foundation committed to integrate people with disabilities into working life.

  • Can I buy your chocolates as a gift?

    Yes! The artful and outstanding design of our chocolates makes them a great present for any occasion. Give away our selections presented in artful Amaringo Boxes or surprise with our exclusive one-year subscription, the Choba Choba Club membership.

  • What does “choba choba” mean?

    The term choba choba derives from the local variety of the indigenous Quechua language group, originally spoken in the Alto Huayabamba Valley. It means: “I help you, you help me” and is still used in our communities to describe a form of collaborative work in the cacao field and in the daily life. This term also represents best how we work as a company and how we want to transform the chocolate world hand in hand with the chocolate consumers. We learn from each other, we depend on each other and we move forward together!

  • Can I contact or even visit the farmers?

    Absolutely! The farmers are very happy to get in touch with the consumers of their chocolate and even more so to meet you in person, let you discover their farms and share with you their expertise and stories. If you wish to contact or visit the farmers, please get in touch with us at community@chobachoba.com.

  • When will my chocolates arrive?

  • Will I be informed before my Abo is automatically renewed?

    Yes. After one year, your Club membership will be automatically renewed because we would like the process of renewal to be as easy as possible for you. But of course we will notify you about this beforehand and you will receive an email so you can cancel your subscription in time if you wish to quit the Club.

  • How can I give away a Club membership?

    Order a Subscription Voucher. You will then receive an email with the voucher attached in PDF form. Print out the PDF voucher and give it to your presentee or send it to him / her by email. The code on this voucher will allow them to place their subscription order for free.

  • Can I buy and redeem myself a voucher that I bought for somebody else?

    Yes, but we don’t recommend to do so! Although you can redeem yourself a voucher that you have bought for somebody else and put in a different delivery address for that subscription. However you should keep in mind, that the subscription will then be managed over your personal account and you will have to customize the boxes yourself.

  • What countries do you deliver to and what is the delivery time and fees?

    You can find the list of the countries we deliver to as well as the according delivery time and fees here.

  • Can I send an order to a different address?

    Yes, you can. When placing an order you always get to choose what address you would like it delivered to.

  • Do you also deliver in summer?

    Yes and no. Our chocolate is fresh and delicate and we want to make sure you enjoy your it at its best! Therefore we do not ship our products if the temperature rises above 25°C. This means that we might put the shipment on hold during certain periods of summer. In that case, we inform you on our online shop.
