Meet PasionaThis chocolate carries the name of Pasiona Caballero, one of Choba Choba’s founding farmers. Born and raised in Pucallpillo, the small village at the heart of our story, Pasiona comes from a family deeply rooted in the Huayabamba Valley — her mother was one of the community’s first settlers. On her small cacao farm, she tends her trees with the same care, patience and dedication she has brought to her family and community throughout her life.Pasiona also represents the essential role women play in Choba Choba. Women today hold key leadership positions within our farmers’ cooperative, while Choba Choba works to strengthen their opportunities through dedicated support and training. In 2019, Pasiona travelled to Switzerland to meet chefs, partners and chocolate lovers — bringing the voice of the Huayabamba farmers directly to the people enjoying their chocolate.
