Our harmonious organic Swiss milk chocolate with caramel & sea salt is crafted from carefully selected cacao beans from our own farms in the Huayabamba Valley, Peru, and organic Swiss milk. It is enriched with golden caramel and French sea salt from the Guérande region.
Chocolate bar name: We have decided to name each chocolate bar after a Choba Choba cacao farmer and co-owner of the company. This bar caries the name of Felix.
Who is Felix?
Felix, born in 1985 in Rioja, San Martín, was raised in Pucallpillo with his mother and sister, where he helped on his stepfather's coca farm during the years of terrorism. He began school at six, but financial hardships forced him to leave after primary school and work as a laborer. At 17, he moved to Juanjuí, where he worked in a grocery store until the age of 23.
Later, Felix returned to Pucallpillo to start cacao farming. He also took a job selling sodas. After meeting Leidy, the two married, and in 2011, their son Angel Abel was born. While Leidy works in education, Felix continues to cultivate cacao.
He values that Choba Choba’s cooperative focus on supporting both families and communities, citing improvements like a fertilization plan and a post-harvest module. He aims to expand his farm, raise livestock, and ensure his son receives a good education, while also addressing the pest challenges affecting cacao production.
Our organic Swiss milk chocolate bar is made from cacao mass* from our farms in Peru and enriched with the following other ingredients:
Raw cane sugar* (from Paraguay)
Cacao butter* (Dom. Rep.)
Whole milk powder*
Caramel pieces 5% (raw cane sugar, whole milk powder, butter, glucose syrup)
Sea salt: 0.5%*
